Dear ________,
Hello my name is _______ and I am a Limerick resident. I noticed that the Limerick City and County Council has continued to hire contractors to spray weeds on footpaths, around tree bases and in public spaces. As the LCCC signed as a partner to the Pollinator Plan in 2019, you are meant to be completely phasing out pesticide use, and are meant to report annually on your plans to do so. I am curious as to how and when you mean to end the use of glyphosate based pesticides? Glyphosate is classed as a carcinogen and endocrine disruptor, and is fatal to bees and toxic to aquatic life. As a citizen of Limerick I am not comfortable with its use in public spaces. Please let me know how you plan to proceed.
Kind regards, _____
